hey i have a question :)

option 1.) a used car like a 95-99 something with a newer engine ( 275HP) and a newer transmission
option 2.) a new car (2007-2008) with the same power engine

what would be a better and a cheaper choice?

your friend,

depends on the car and the motor/****** selection.....go look up pricing of whatever you are wanting

i just test drove a 04 nissan with 24000 miles. 18999$. 270 hp. nissan murano. i was fairly impressed with the way it drove. don't like the looks, but that seemless transmission nissans have is pretty sweet.

say a 1998 nissan maxima with an automatic ****** for $5k vs. a 2008-2009 nissan altima coupe for whatever the price is.

Older cars are usually cheaper to fix. Newer cars have more and more components in them and if they go out, it can cost alot. Example (not the best one I have but) My dad's 2000 Cadillac STS have the relay go out in the EBTCM (if you don't know what that is google it). All it does it disable the ABS and the TCS however it is around $1k to fix because the relay will not be replaced by GM. You have to buy the whole component which of course, since its a Cadillac, costs around $600-$700 plus labor. My vehicles are old and aren't the easiest things to fix however they are much cheaper. A rebuilt transmission for my 1974 Chevy costed me $400 without labor. Try getting a price like that on a nissan transmission. But as long as your happy with the car you buy, who cares what you get. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

depends on the condition of the used car. i know my '99 has some rock chips in the paint and just isn't quite in the condition a new car would be.

They weren't 270hp. 245. And it's a CVT transmission.

By the question you asked, I feel that can safely assume you have trouble making decisions. You need a new car. With a warranty, and a service plan. That way, you can stay out from under the hood.
