I have been an audio enthusiast since forever. I started working for Bill Crutchfield in his garage packaging stereos and speakers back in the 80's. I spent 17 years on the road playing music, traveling with my Big Brute speakers all over the country. I worked for International Auto for a while too. At 65 and playing music my ears have certainly been abused and they tell me I only have about 30% of them left. If you listen to anything ever, protect your ears, you may live to be as old as I am. Thanks for the add!

I’m just bringing my hearing down to a level where I can still hear music, but not my wife. She claims I’m already there, but I can still hear her. Jokes on her!!!
You'll know especially when the ringing becomes louder than everyday noise. I still play music, but I use in ear monitors now, or at least plugs. My hearing doctor said everybody in my house must hate it when i watch tv. Hes right! Everybody knows when i pull in the driveway, and actually when i turn on my road...a mile away! lol

My grandfather lost a lot of his hearing flying a bomber in WW2 and some days I rather envied him because he didn't have to listen to all the bullshit coming from all angles. I don't think that bothered him so much as his sight deteriorating.

Sage advice anyway, but a lot of us are just addicted to loud music and likely will wind up buying very expensive amplifiers (hearing aids) later in life.

And he made it through, life expectancy was pretty low for those guys
I can't even imagine being that young and having to deal with the things that come with the job.
The world would be a different place today if it wasn't for guys like that
We owe that whole generation a debt that will never be repaid
