hey dhl wanna **** my D*ck ( PICS) Fu(k Dhl

how is mounting a woofer not a good idea?
You basically build a sealed box, put fragile stickers and pay extra for insurance and the 70+ pound box.

You'll get the money for it, just gotta get the shipper to start the claim and the money will go to him
If there is a sudden trauma to the package (like falling 30 feet), you want some form of damping other than that of the driver itself. When it's screwed in and it falls, all that force from momentum is transfered right into the basket and the baffle. Which ever is weaker will fail. I would bet that the baffle broke and the extra force was enough to break the basket as well.

If it fell from somewhere pretty high up, it's doubtful it would have survived, even with excellent packaging.

i agree with you...

btw guys this is why its always a good idea to have decent packaging and always put more insurance on it then its worth.

Heres the deal, if I send you a glass bottle, and I put 500 dollars worth of insurance on the glass bottle, and i PAY FOR 500 dollars worth of insurance, they can't argue that the bottle is not worth 500 dollars, they took your money for 500 dollars worth of insurance, they are obligated to pay you 500 dollars for the broken piece.

BTW there is no price on "sentimental objects" so if this was a cousins sub that died in Iraq...they can't say it wasn't worth that much...

Been there done that on a couple of occassions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i have had problems with them too. they threw a vehicle contract from a dealer over the fence and it was chewed up by my dogs. they also threw about 200 bucks worth of paintball equipment over too. i believe you can have them droip off deliveries at the post office and they can send em the rest of the way.

DHL can break or lose ANYTHING. I have witnessed first hand 8 attempts to deliver packages to me 6 of them were returned to sender because they "couldn't find the house" and the two that miraculously made it to the front door were FLATTENED.

I have a fed ex ground account and ups account which I use to ship over 1000 packages per year and receive over 1000 packages and neither shipper has broken anything in 2 yrs (the two years before they each broke 2 items per year).

DHL over a two year period lost 6 and broke 2 with ZERO successful deliveries and it seems to be widespread because everyone I have talked to on many forums have experienced similar service from them.

Anyone pissing and moaning about packaging thinks a large wooden crate and a sub MOUNTED to it to prevent movement is not enough is only correct on one level...... For DHL it needs to be STEEL to give them a challenge, but they will still find a way to screw it up.

ahahahahhha great post.

The only way I'd pack a subwoofer is thick foam surrounding it one box, filled with peanuts or news paper//anything to prevent it from moving/sliding around, sealed tight, then another box with another layer of foam or packing peanuts.
