Hertz MLK 165s - Active vs. Passive

So obviously it's a passive comp set and I would render the xovers useless so in a sense I paid for nothing, but I want some opinions on this. I have an active capable eclipse cd7000 and am curious if I should avoid the hassle and just go passive or if I can get some really great audible SQ gains from going active.

well the Hertz passives are dam nicely designed. I own the hsk 165s and have a cd7k. i was passive then went active when i bought this deck. active sure is fun to play with as long as you know what you are doing. the best advantage going active would be the independent time alignment you can set for each driver IMO.
