Hey it's me again, with a new perspective. Just looking for opinions once more.
I went around town today to several different shops and nothing was really impressing me too much. Until the last place. These guys knew their stuff and explained so much to me about my current set up and how they think they could get me exactly what I'm after with a few small changes. I told them I was interested in the Sundown SD-2. We had a good discussion as to the difference between a true sound quality subwoofer and how subs like in the Sundown lineup don't fit that category. They agreed that they do make a good product, and are actually working to be a dealer of Sundown, but they have their place in the market - and superior SQ is not it.
So we started talking about Audison and their creation of the Hertz line. Naturally this particular shop sells Hertz, and got me pretty interested in their product. Maybe I'm just a sucker, but he seemed very honest and genuinely interested in getting me the right set up. So he gave me a rough quote for a Hertz HX 250 in a custom built sealed enclosure and labor of around $550. If you didn't see my other thread it would be paired with a JL Audio 500/1.
For nearly the same cost I can purchase the JL Audio HO110-w6v3 loaded box.
I'm looking for a super tight punchy sound. Not sure which set up would achieve that better.
