bgboost, that's too expensive for the Hi Energy's. A couple years ago I was quote $330 from an authorized dealer.

If I were you I would call up NUMEROUS authorized dealers and ask how much they will sell it for. You will find some are cheaper than others. And if you mention you found a place that is cheaper (that is an authorized dealer) they may match or beat the price.

When I was looking for my Zapco CK 16.2's I got quotes from 800 - 950. Some would not match or beat the pricing of other dealers, and they were even asking 925. Others will gladly do it to gain you as a customer.

Don't bother mentioning non-authorized prices as they will argue that it's not authorized, they have the upper hand in that game. Even call surround cities that may be about an hour's distance from you just to get a price quote, doesn't hurt. But you should certainly get them for ~$300 from an authorized dealer IMHO.

Some of my local prices quite retail and retail only, or retail + markup. There's one or two that will only quote you what they're supposed to over the phone because they sign pricing agreements, but if you just show up in the shop they square you away.

I've got my local guy authorized deal down to $320, but several nice folks on this site have offered them much cheaper.
