I have a Hertz HCP4 760w Amp that went into safe mode the other day, I went and had it checked on a bench and it appears to have been surged with power or grounded out somewhere from what I've been told. I have a pair of Hertz HSK 165 6.5", a pair of HCX 690 6x9", and a JL 10w3 sub that ran through it.

I was wondering why it went into safe mode/surged. Could it have anything to do where I mounted the amp?

Also when I get a new Hertz HCP4 amp, I'll only run the Hertz speakers through it. What amp should I get for the JL 10w3v3 sub?
