wondering what pair would work good for my amp, both bridged and not, just becuase when i upgrade the fronts i want to toss the polks in the rear to experiment, and if i dont like it id just bridge the hertz. hopefully not looking to spend more then 500$ on a pair but i know this brand can get pricey

Ive had experience with Hertz low and high. Great stuff but quite overpriced. Are you going active or not?

i do believe mine is active..... i run from the HU to the crossover to speaker to amp if that helps
No you dont. You run from hu to amp to crossover to speaker. Passive

Or you run from hu to amp to speaker. Active.

Active means you control which frequencies go to which speakers before the amp. Passive means you send a full signal to your amp and the amp sends a full signal to a passive crossover and that splits the signal to your speakers

with the excelon HU you have. You have your Active crossover in your head unit but wether you are using it or not, idk.

Do you have anything that looks like kind of like this ANYWHERE in your system??

than passive it is

Then i recommend eliminating your rear speakers and run your speakers active. Your headunit will let you do this. Pretty much what you want to do is run Channel 1+2 to your door speakers and channel 3+4 to your tweeters. Ignore the rear fill. Trust me, a solid front stage is MORE than enough with proper power.

as for speakers. Zaph|Audio

Look at the 6.5 speaker and tweeter comparisons.

so instead of bridging my fronts youre saying run the tweets as there own channels?!

Yupp but be careful doing this. Tweeters need the proper signal sent to them. You want their FS to be atleast -12db down. As in. Lets say your tweeters have a FS of 1500hz. If you cross them at 3000hz with a -12db slope. They will be -12 at one octave down which is 1500hz. Generally you want to cross much higher than that though. Thats just kinda rule of thumb safe territory stuff.

And the gain on the tweets will be totally different than the gains on the door speakers.

this kind of sounds like a fun adventure. Can i do all of this with my current set up?

If you buy the Hertz raw without the passive crossover they are way cheaper. And worth every penny if you know what you are doing. I've had all but the Mille. Start with the XL set if you can. That's when they start to pull away from the pack. A mid that kills under 100hz and a tweeter that can go as low as 1800hz.

Honestly, im not sure. That b2 quarttro amp is confusing as hell. If you can, itll be a mix between using your headunit and your amp crossovers together.

Get some new speakers. 6.5/tweeter. Run them the way you have your current set up. See if you like it. Then try active if your not satisfied.

Have you heard the hl70(thoughts?)? I have the hsk163 set running 2 way currently. The ht25 tweeter is very detailed but just fatiguing as heck. Plan very soon is to run it 3 way proper.
