Heres my story come neg the spit outta me

I didn't break in mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif and pounded them to all hell and they were like new when I got rid of em
How much power were you giving yours?

I was giving mine 700-800 and I smelt the glue heating up smell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif so I backed it off, and now they can handle that power all day long without a single problem and are loud as fawk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

About 640 a piece from a Cadence iA7. Seemed about perfect for them, and I literally played them for hours a day. Great subs for the money

so its possibly the break in time ? i mean i can believe it but i was never nice to my orions.. you guys really think its the break in ? i can admit i was a lil bass happy when i got them but i wasnt full out clippin the spit outta them

It depends on what actually happened to the sub. If it tore the spiders than it could have been no break in time. But if you fried the coil, it had nothing to do with the lack of break in. Did they smell and smoke when they stopped working?

This is straight of their site...

"We recommend to allow at least several weeks of playing time to break in AQ Woofers, full break in may take many months. DO NOT play subwoofers at max amplifier power in the first couple of days, give the suspensions a chance to loosen up. As the suspension breaks in, the subs will play lower and louder."

and figuring they r the ones making them, i would take their word. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
