So i purchased the aq sdc2.5 12's in the end of august got them like sept. 5th runnin' them on the aq1200 at one ohm.. blew one of them after a few days... sent it in paid to get it fixed..got it back yesterday played my subs for a about 2-3 minutes at half volume and the other starts pinging.. now everyone whos reading this is prolly thinkin i clipped the spit outta them..i did clip them but not for more than a minute and that was when i first got them in september.. so i call aq tell them im not satisfied that im paying them now over 500 dollars for the subs and ask if i can trade them in and possibly pay more to just get the hdc they refuse and get all pissy... now i know that its not impossible or even hard to blow these subs when you do something wrong.. but straight up i had a pair of orion hp series subs.. dual 4ohms ran down to one ohm on the same amp same everything... and they NEVER failed me once...and they are rated for 500wrms.. the aq's should hold up if those orions can hang but apparently not.. i am so unsatisfied with all this bullsh!t.. the least aq could of done was said i could send them in and pay a lil more for the upgrade. so someone entertain me as to why the aq sdc2.5 cant hang with a orion 500wrms sub. This is just bull i live in michigan and by the time i send in this sub and get it back my car will be in storage. O and on top of all this the people at aq got the balls to say "o well we have already lost money dealing with you" Now wtf is that about? i bought both them subs off there page full price and paid for ups delivery..another 50.. (which aint on them but w.e its part of the total), sent in the first sub another 20shipping, then they charged me $60 and sent it back.. now i gotta pay another 20 to ship and 60 to fix... so i believe there excuse of that sh!t is also flawwed...again im so not satisfied...

p.s car never drops below 13V... 2006 grand prix, kenwood head unit, 4guage monster cable, aq1200 ran at one ohm

I run mine off of 700-800 watts. The have been proven to stand up to 900. That is your problem, I wouldn't want to buy subs that have been hooked up at the same time as another that failed because of user error. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You toasted your subs and get pissed because the company wont exchange them for a different sub? You'll just blow that one too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Stop bitching.

yea figured id get a few people sayin im all pissy.. when really all my shit was hooked up by extreme car audio here in grand rapids michigan............. and what about the orions.. ??

I already said this once over at caf so I'll say it again. Your an idiot and you obviously know nothing about the English language. My SDC 12's took 650 with ease, blasting daily, and i did no break in whatsoever.

Speakers don't just magically get thermal damage.

If the suspension came apart on the first driver, then you'd be right to suspect something wrong from AQ - they also would have been more apt to deal with a warranty repair, if they do that.

But unless we see pictures of the coils, or an o'scope trace of what your amps are doing - this is a useless thread.
