I read that you can do a quick test on it, run only you lights, while you car is running, and then shut you car off, if the lights dim then you alt is ok, if they get brighter then its bad...

It may still be charging but not at its maximum capacity, before spending money on anything i would seriously get it tested, before it goes out completely leaving you stranded.

It's highly possible it's not the alternator but you can probably get it tested for free.

Try doing the Big 3. If you plan doing any more to your system in the future... it's a good idea to do anyways. That'll help a bunch, and it should only cost you $15-25 if you shop around.

If that doesn't help get a new alt. Oh yeah, and you should get it tested anyway to determine if its running correctly or just limping on.

Ok, had it tested @ oriley's and he put a load on the bat. and the alt, the bat is good the alt had one bad diode... i'm getting it replaced today, thanks for your help guys!
