planning on doing big3 over this coming weekend. Took a very nice clear pic of my engine. If somebody has some time please save this pic and use paint or whatever program you can draw with and do a virtual big 3 for me.

and here's a direct link

Don't have to put anything in writing since I know what it is and where all the wires have to go.

Thanks

Not so easy to draw on that pic, you can't see some of the good stuff.

1/0 cable from Alt+ to Batt+

1/0 cable from alternator case to Batt-

1/0 cable from Batt- to body of car OR direct to amp

This is what I would do for starters, then move up to more battery power and more alternator power.

if you don't know how to route wire away from obvious dangers, and follow the instructions in the big 3 thread about what goes where then you should let someone else do it.

my thoughts exactly.

hey jco should he fuse his alt to battery?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh:

thats on him. if you want to do it "right" and use 2 fuses (one right up at the battery, one right at the alt) then yes. 1 fuse on that wire does nothing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

you don't need to go from the alt case to the battery neg you can just go from engien to chassis . and bat neg to chassis no to you amp . you can run a ground to you amp from your battery but as long as you make sure your grounds are good and solid you should be fine

If you short out your alt you will just need to replace it. If you short out your batt it will probably explode and leak acid and cause a ton of damage.

1 fuse can do alot.
