hello all,

as u can see i am new to the forum, and was looking for some insite on a set of new components for my front stage. I currently am running a set of fosgate type RF 5.25" comps at arounnd 100rms from a RF T600/4. I blew my driver side tweet, and want to buy something in the 6.5" size, and that will get more midbass than those did, and im looking for a lil more volume out of em. looking more on the SQ side of things rather than SPL. im wanting to spend around $200 for the pair. any feedback would be helpful

Just changing the speaker's may not give you any more mid-bass. I have the Rockford Power series and I was very surprised with how much mid-bass they have. I'm not a huge fan of the tweeter's though. If you plan to put in new comps you may want to look into deadening your door's as well as I'm sure that will help you out alot in getting a little more mid-bass. Alot of people like the Image Dynamic CTX which is right in your price range if you purchase from woofersetc.com .

thank you. I have looked at the ID comps, and those seem like they will work. same as you i dont really like the way the tweets sounded with the aluminum. Any opinions on how the ID CTX's sound compared to the Diamond S600s. my buddy just installed those in his doors, and they scream at you.

Ive listened to the Cadence in the shop before, and they were very mellow on the mid bass. it was there, but took a back seat. Im still looking like the ID's are gonna be what i put in. Would it be that hard of a thing to go active up front? With the comps in the rear also, wont it help with the imaging?

Im currently running the PG Rsds in my sig and could not be happier. Midbass is suprising strong considering my doors are not deaded or sealed. I use to own the RF Power Comps, and was impressed by their midbass, but like everyone else, found that tweeter a little harsh.

Not on the forum boner, but the Rsds might be something to consider.

The problem with the PG RSd's is that they are only rated for 60 watts . my amp is pushin 124X4rms on the birth sheet, 100x4 normal. so i dont wanna dump money into a set that im gonna have to baby. I need a set thats going to handle some power. that where my problem lies. only a few sets in my price range that can actually handle power being thrown at them. most that can handle ussually are starting around $300

The amp in my sig is quite underrated, its pushing around 125w to each set, their were people on here giving them 150w, which I honestly dont think they need. You amp would push them fine, and get quite a lot of output from them.

Trust me, this is coming from a guy who bridged a Orion 4002 (100w x 2, 400w x 1 bridged at 4ohm RMS) to a single RF Power 6.75 set (woofer and tweeter). If I felt like I was stressing the speakers I would not be running them daily like that. But its your choice man.

true that... well i will deffinatly take your thoughts into mind when purchasing. So its narrowed down to the PG RSd's or the ID CTX's. im gonna check some shops around here and try to listen to them before i bite the bullett.

BTW... anyone have any experience in sound deadening doors on a 99 pontiac firebird?
