Help With Subwoofer Sooo Confused

Ok, so here is my situation. My current set up isn't satisfying enough for me.

I currently have

AMP: PPI PCX2200 800WATTS RMS BRIDGED

BOX: PORTED BOX BUILT TO JL DESIGN CP112G-W1v2 (H 15.25 in. x W 20.50 in. x D 15.00 in.) so roughly i think i have around 2.5 cubic feet of volume

SUB: 12" KICKER CVR 400WATTS RMS

CAR: 1997 BMW 318IS WITH FOLDED DOWN SEATS

GOAL: Good SQL that'll kick some street Ars

Sub that I'm considering to upgrade to: All single 12'' I want to see which is the best/loudest SQL sub out of these since i've heard none of them and have read good things about most of them i've gotten myself rather confused. price on sub is not a questions will be working with the amp and box i already have. horse.gif

well most of them are rated around 800 up to 1000 watts I didn't think under powering the subs would make too much of a difference in the SQL

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those subs. All will leave you happy. Another you could consider is the TC-2000 ( http://www.tcsounds.com/tc2000.htm )

the Q sounds great

re sx sounds good but not quite as clear

venwen...I was in the same situation as you beginning of july.

I have a '93 325i sedan, with folding seats also.

Mainly I was stuck between the idmaxx v SI Mag v Fi BL / BTL

I completely dude a turn around and went with a TC-3000 since it was on sale.

I will try to break down my reasoning as best as I can.

Fi Q - I looked into this, and it was notably known for its SQ. also being loud at times. At the price they offered..I figured if i wanted loud..i could just shell out a couple more dollars and get a BL..or even a BTL at that. But at first..I didn't want an all out SPL monster.. Fi Q is nice..only if i wanted to listen to it. And you said you wanted SQL...so the BL would have to be a huge consideration.

SI MAG D2 - I was going to get this 100%...if I could find a brand new one for a good price. If price isn't an issue, than go ahead and buy it. I figured I would just buy a sub..and then wait until the new SI MAG D2 comes out(whenever that is). I have heard nothing but positive reviews about this sub so no doubt...get it if you can find it.

IDMAXXX - a monster sub. It can be a bit pricey buying brand new ($450 msrp on idmaxx website..) For that kind of money, I would just spend it on a brand new Magnum..or shell out a few more dollars and get 2 BL's.

I've never owned that particular model, but I have owned a pair of their base model woofers (db-500's in which they dont make anymore) and I was more than suprised with their performance. They do well with both sq and spl. If you do decide on the TC, I would order ASAP because they will be jacking up their prices 50-100% very soon.

I'm not really sure. They said they were going to do it at the end of last month but it never happened. I'm guessing they will be clearing out what they have left, then jacking up the prices.
