help with sound quality issues of h/u

i have a pioneer h/u and I don't like them. The equalizer changes the sound of my subwoofer, and playing a song from a usb stick sounds so different than cd. I actually have the lpf on my amp down below 60hz and it sounds normal as opposed to a cd. On the cd I can tell its missing a good amount of frequency levels but it sounds pretty normal on the usb stick, just not as good of quality. i only have one cd so i am stuck tuning my system like this. Could it be a poor quality usb, or poor download? anyone know a good place I can download quality mp3 or other music formats? ram-designs decaf download songs have the same issue as on the stick, and those are not done poorly. I just ordered a fi q 12 to run a sq setup because I can't enjoy my music.
