Help With Radio Reception

Please help! I just bought a used BMW with a Kenwood KVT-910DVD installed. For some reason I'm getting absolute terrible radio reception. I have heard that this might be because the TV antenna is too close to the radio antenna? BMW has the radion antenna in the rear window which happens to be where someone installed the Kenwood radio antenna. Do you think this might be the problem? Any advice would be helpful.

pull the unit out and see if the antenna is plugged in...
