My car originally came stock with 6" subs and of course I wanted more. Original plans where to go with an Q or id max my plans for the car changed, I wanna keep as light as possible while having some bass. I decided to cut out the original sub locations to fit 8" subs. I wanna do this right the first time so I have some questions. The sub that i'm going with is to be in a ported box only and that's where the questions come in.
You can see my previous knowledge of deadning here, I have a roll of RAMMAT coming in so all of this will be very well dampend. I also wanted to do sludge but again my previous knoledge fu...d it for me I sprayed the inside with rubberized undercoating:crap:. Notice there's is TWO chambers. I did the math and have about a 1.3 sqft of air space per side.
The second chamber has a tunnel, port like chamber that fires to the back of the car.
It fires into a huge sealed chamber. Question is will it work if I seal the chamber that fires into the back with MDF then use a real port, will the port firing into a sealed chamber affect anything, I'm going for loudness rather than sq since these are only 8's. What do you think.
