so, I finally got a ps3. It was bought for me a while back obviously (it's a 60g, and there aren't any more in the stores) It wasn't used... brand new still in original box. I am pretty tired... maybe I missed a step. I brought it to work with me tonight and tried hooking it up to the tv here (non-hd) with the av cables. plugged those in, the remote to the usb slot, and the power cord. went to my aux channel... and nothing. the green light comes on, lights flash on and off on the remote. am I missing a step?

It might be set to a higher resolution than your tv can handle. I just had to do this right now when I got home.

Turn your PS3 off. Then turn it back with the power button the front. When you turn it on, hold down on the power button until it beeps a second time. It should reset the resolution and you should be able to see a picture on your screen.

I took mine to my bro's place this weekend and his tv was 1080p. I changed the res to 1080p but when I got home, I had to change it back since my tv only does 1080i.

lol... nah. it's cool. may be me. got to work at 5 p.m. Christmas eve... went home this morning at 9 a.m. back at work now... and still haven't slept. I'm either missing something simple... or I need to fix it/return it.

thanks I'll try it.

okay. think that'll do it. I did what you said and it allowed me to "hear" the menu and I could here my controller scroll through it. this is a really old tv... so probably won't work here. I'll try it at home on my newer hd. guess I'll have to buy a little lcd to take to work. thanks.
