Help with power issues to Alpine Type R's

Ok I got a truck from my brother and it came with 2 sets of Alpine Type R Components. It also came with a Kenwood 400X4 4/3/2 Channel amp. It just seems to me that it could and has the potemtional to be so much louder. Granted it sounds good and all but I thought that 4 5X7's (I think that is the size) and 4 Tweeters I thought that it would be ringing my ears...but it don't. Now on a shelf in my garage I have a Rockford Fosgate 951X (I think that is the model number) 4 channel amp. Now if I were to put said amp to said speakers, would it hurt them? I do not want to cook them but I thought that there would be more sound.

Strong amps and clashing rms ratings do not kill speakers. People do.
