Help with piecing together a HT system.. Pieces needed!

I want to stay in the 1k-1.2k range for EVERYTHING. At this point in my roughly 14' x 14' room I will probably just use a 5.1 system but a 7.1 receiver and add the other stuff when I move. I know some of the good car speakers, subs, amps, etc... but don't know HT stuff! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

Does Boston, Polk, etc... bundle up complete sets without the receiver? I need some good suggestions on the following with where to purchase at the best cost:

- Sub

- Receiver

- Fronts

- Rears

- Sides

Am I missing anything?

I am lost on this stuff! It seems Onkyo must make 1000 different receivers so knowing which one to get so I am not second guessing my decisions as soon as I buy is killing me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif That goes for all the other stuff as well!

I think I still need more info on prices and where to shop.

Let's start with the receiver since the other stuff can be changed. What is the best bang for the buck one out there? Can anyone explain to me... at least from what I heard... that all the Onkyos are Analog. Why not digital?

what part is analog?

well pretty much onkyo is the best bang for the buck and the receivers i recommend are the 605 and 604 preferably the 605. and yes its digital //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif speakers well i already gave you links to the ones i think are good. theirs also def tech, axiom, and others you might want to look into. but IMO av123 system is good bang for the buck.

I went listening yesterday!

I ended up going a little more than budget so I guess I will need to eat tree bark for a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I really liked the DefinitiveTech speakers sound and looks over all the others. I will say though the Velodyne sub I listened to yesterday was also the best but for now I am opting to go with this incredible deal being offered on the Definitive Tech 1000 set:

$1154 shipped gets you all the pieces plus the bigger 10" sub. Yesterday the place I visited had the 1000 center, 1000 fronts and 800 rears so it should sound even better when I get it in! The sub by itself is $499 so I figure if it doesn't pan out I can sell it for $200- $300 and put another $200- $300 with it and get something real nice.

Not really. I have a 52 disc at the moment.
