I want to purchase a Equalizer but not sure which one applies to my setup. Im going be running a JL Audio 300/4 which will be powering Focal 165 K2P's in the front and Access lines in the rear, no subs. Im looking to purchase a Audio Control EQ but im not sure which one? Will the EQL be good enough for my setup or do I have to go with the EQS or EQT? Im not to fimilar with EQ's so any help would be great. By the way. its for a 03 330i BMW.

Thanks.

Just a suggestion but I'm getting an Audiocontrol 4.1 EQ for my setup. It doesn't have the most bands but it is a dashmount and works as a line driver too. I've found it at a couple websites brand new for around $219. Do a search on them here, caraudioforum.com, or elitecaraudio.com everybody has great things to say about them. Just my 2 cents.

How you are planning on routing your RCA cables will determine everything in this case. If you are only running one set of RCAs to the back and don't want/need fader capability, then the EQL (or two EQTs, because they are only one channel operation) will do what you need. If you are running two sets of RCAs to the amp, the you will need 2 EQLs or 4 EQTs to allow you to have EQ ability on all four channels. The EQS is not very flexible because the 6 1/2 octave bands only work on the sub channels of the EQ. The best AudioControl product for you situation would be the EQQ but they don't make it anymore. It is a 4 ch 13 band EQ with separate controls for front and rear left and right over all 13 bands. You might be able to find a used one in good condition on eBay.

Im not planning on buying subs anytime soon and not worried about the rear speakers as much as the front one's. I also have mobile video, so will the 4.1 be good enough for both? Thanks.

The Audio control Three.1 has two sets of inputs and has three sets of outs (front/rear/sub). The EQX is the strawberry's and wine of Audio controls EQ's, it comes with four sets of RCA outs. I plan on getting one or the other soon. Probably the EQX.

Whats your budget for an EQ? yesterday i decided to keep my budget low, so i went w/ a Clarion ESQ560...its a pretty good amp for what you pay which should fit any type of budget. obviously if you want the better sound you gotta pay the bigger bucks. however, i only paid $128 for the Clarion and that price included installation...I'm happy w/ it, and from some of the reviews i read its better than a lot of other amps you'd expect to have your system "bang".
