i have a viper 1200w amp hooked up to 2 12" alpine type r and it worked fine for a 2 days untill i changed a song and the subs went out... i looked at the fuses on the amp... 3x 30 fuses... and they were burnt out.. i checked the ground and moved it just incase i checked the amp under the hood and it was fine i put new fuses in started it the amp blinked on protection and then blinked power then shorted them all out again i think maybe something interal in the amp might be messed up? but i have no idea why it is doin that i dont really know anything about amps so all the help would be greatly appriceated

ok heres a good explaination. The fuse by the battery on the power cable is to protect against surges so to speak or shorts in the wire. if it happens USUALLY that fuse will pop and youll check your wires, fix it, and then put a new fuse in, but u want the fuse USUSALLY to be how many fuses in ur amp, ur case 3, times the amperage on those fuses, so 3x30, to equal the size fuse in the holder on the power cable up by the battery. so go buy a new fuse, fuses for your amp SAME SIZE FUSES THOUGH, and recheck your wires, make sure your ground is SECURED and the power cable and ground cables are PLUGGED IN right on the amp. my friend blew all his fuse by plugging in the power to ground and ground to battery. dumbass he is.

what you just explained would be for another situation but in this case it wouldnt help him! his fuse and wire size are correct, he said it did fine for 2 day's then boom nothing! so im thinking he either has to low of an ohm load for the amp to handle, or he has a faulty amp.......also im wondering if the electrical cant handle the amp and is dropping to dangerously low level's in which will cause the issue's that have occured to occur
