help with my alpine 9887

hello,

so i've be trying to figure out my sound system for awhile, eventually blowing some fuses

today i put the sub rca to either teh F/R outputs on my 9887 and my subwoofer works, then i put it back to the sub output and i get nothing...my amp is the Alpine MRP-M450 and 12" type-r

and i believe that i did select "subwoofer - on"

am i forgetting something?
