XPS does 13.3 still I believe.

Inspiron is 14". I've got a 1420 and it's pretty light/mobile, use it for college every day, no problems with it + books in my bag.

I just personally purchased a macbook through a buddy of mine..... love it compared to the PC. torrented the full adobe suite, and microsoft office 2007..... runs awesome.

once you get over the initial week of differences, i feel the mac is so much more convenient to use. compared to my dell (i have a school laptop as well) my macbook is a feather.... and im sure you can find a used one for a very nice price....
