Firstly RE: Crossfire amp (Red board). When I send ignition signal to switch theamp on the power light is green but I get this over 1 second gradualbass/interference which isn’t very loud, however it leads up to a single thumpfrom the sub, and then the amp switches the green light (and itself off). Thentwo seconds later it will repeat the process.
I am running two batterys (Exide 550CCA/58Ah/NS50 and Century HD4WD N70Z 700CA) with 4ga between them, all theelectrical system is decent. There are two upgraded grounds. One in the enginebay going to the block (90mm, is that 00? 000? - I got about 5m more of it too =)) and the battery in the boot is grounded to the floor (Sanded, bolted) (4ga). I might upgrade these to another run of 4ga between batterys and better grounding from batteries to chassis throughout.
There isn’t visibly anything wrong with the amp that I cantell (from looking at the board)
The Audiobahn A16000V (Green board) (800wrms@4ohm,1600wrms@2ohm) was running at 4ohm also and blew some resistors and a mosfet on the same wiring/sub setup.
Gains were both on under half, getting fed by a CDA-9853R. The Crossfire is 600wrms @ 4ohm bridged... and I think it pounded just as much as the Audiobahn amp!
I am thinking it's possibly a grounding issue? Perhaps the sub is too big for these amps and that is causing the problem?
I have bought a Crossfire VR1000D which is meant to be 1332wrms @ 1ohm. I can't wait to hear what 1332wrms on a 3515 will be like. I just want it to last this time!
