Help with Amp!

I have installed a set of Polk db6500 components (10-100 RMS) and Polk db650 rear speakers (6-60 RMS) that is being powered by a Pioneer Avic-D1 HU (22 RMS x 4). Is the strongest amp I can get to power my speakers 60 RMS x4, or can I go higher say 75 RMS x4 or 100 RMS x4? Also how does it work exactly when wiring it. Does it go Battery --> Distribution Block --> Amplifier --> crossover/back speakers --> then crossovers to tweeters/front speakers?

I'm looking at getting the eD Nine.4 Amp:

What do you think? Is there another amp I should get for this set up?

Thanks for the help!!!

you could get a 4 channel amp that does 100x4, usually they have seperate gains for the first 2 channels and the last 2. just lower the gains on the side you put your weaker speakers on.

in general it is okay to go over the rms rating of the speaker. trust me i know people who are running 250 watts to a mid when its rated at 80 watts and they are fine. as long as you watch the gains and don't send a clipped signal you should be fine. headroom is always a good thing.

Thanks for the help so far everyone! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got another question. My headunit has three sets of red/white outputs for the RCA cables. I'm assuming the subwoofer output goes straight to the amp powering the sub. The other two set of outputs are for front/rear speakers. Will I be running two sets of RCA cables from the headunit to the amp powering the speakers?

Also what do you mean by not sending a clipped signal?

You should beable to learn about "Clipping" on this site http://www.bcae1.com/

they have a ton of info take a look readup.

About Halfway down you will see Gain Settings thats a good one to read..

I have no needed to use any gain in my last 3 systems so.. it kinda depends on the quality of the system aswell My Zapco is 35w(50x2) less than my Arc(85x4) was

And the Zapco is somuch louder & cleaner

http://www.elitecaraudio.com has an install tetoral(Spelling)

That is very good aswell..

Peace Troy

*I would try to tell you but Id just make it a bunch of blah*
