Help with amp decision

Hey all, first post here. I drive a 2000 VW Jetta TDI with a 90 amp alternator. My question is, what is the largest amp I can hook up safely. The only thing I'm going to amp are 4 speakers, but I was just wondering how far I can take this thing. Thanks alot.

You should be good with about 800 - 1000 RMS total in your system.

lol, I take it azbass is a fan of VW's? I love the thing, 5 speed manual, diesel, and I get 50 mpg (around 37 now that I started using the AC). And thanks for the reply Nelson. So if I get a 500 watt amp, it won't be a problem?

no don't worry bout it i would'nt really start worrying till 1,200-1,500 depending on car and electrical

I was originally planning on getting a sub, but I figured I'd suffice with some nice speakers in the rear doors with some decent bass (any suggestions?). I' m going to get some Infinity Kappa 63.7i's for the front.

a kicker 650.4 would suffice. Then if you got a sub just add a mono amp.
