Alright, I have a 2005 Camry LE. Right now, everything in it is Stock, factory HU, factory speakers, NO jbl, no Nav. All stock system.

I have the following equipment that I'd like to fit into my car... somehow.

Here's the list of what I have, and pages to the details about it:

Pioneer 760 watt GM-5200T 2 Channel Bridgeable Amplifier

1. I was wondering How to setup that amp (mono) to my sub box, and how much wattage it'll end up pushing. The subs are rated much more (400 norm 800 peak) than I think the pioneer amp is. Will i be able to push enough to the subs? Will the 4 ohm subs be able to handle it if I can somehow wire them to go to 2 ohms? How would I do that? I think even at 2 ohms x2, I’d only be doing like 250 watts compared to their 400 normal watt running power.

2. Will that mono rockford fosgate punch 100.1 be good enough to run power for the pioneer 3x9's that I’m putting in, 2-40 watt max, i think if I can run them at 2 ohm, i can get 50watts to each, if it's 4 ohms, i can only get 25 watts to each, but they won't be hurt cause it says 2 - 40 watts, am I right is assuming that? And how do i run them at 2 ohms? they say they have 4 ohms, but my amp can run 2 or 4 ohms, so can I bridge them, and how... so I can get more bang from them?

3. I don't know what the wiring harness is going to do, but I hope it just lets me connect RCA cables from my stock Headunit to my amp. Probably only 1 amp to, so I might not be able to use the rockford fosgate as well unless i was going to buy another headunit, or could i just high level inputs for that? or Maybe the high level inputs for my subs amp, because clarity isn't that important on subs, and use the wiring harness for the 3 way door panel speakers.

4. I really am just not sure what the best way to do all this is, and I know the best is sort of a varying thing from car to car, really the main point in this is to not have to spend any more money. Basically just buy wiring and I should have a decent setup. If you have suggesting, I would be happy to hear them.

5. What size wiring would I need for the amps? I think 6ga would be fine for the 760 watt pioneer amp, but it's mono, should i get more or less? Do you think I need a capacitor, maybe 1 farad? I just have my stock battery and alternator, but right now, my radar detector tells me I'm running a clean 14.2 vts all the time, so maybe if that starts to drop, I'll need to get a cap? or just another battery. I shouldn't have to though with just 1 amp though, right?

6. And I guess a final thing to do would be to buy a new headunit, but something simple, cause i've been reading this site, something like this :

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11105_Pioneer+Premier+DEH-P500UB.html#

I just need to find a way to take my double din down to a single din. Most double din receivers are so dang expensive. Oh, and I don't know what I'm going to do with the tweeters yet. Are they big enough to even worry about installing?

Anyways, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading, and I hope all of this is clear.

PS. If you live in Utah, the SLC/Provo area, gimme a ring and we'll work something out so you can tackle this beast with me! Thanks!

1. the pionner amp will do 125x2@4, 190x2@2, 380x1@4. that is really only enough to prperly power one of those subwoofers. you never said which version you are have, svc or dvc (and ohms), so i can't say what you will be doing in terms of power. hopefully you have a svc or a 2ohm dvc.

2. run the amp at 4ohm, one 6x9 to each channel. 25rms to each will be plenty for you. the only way to get a 2ohm load would be to have 2 sets of 6x9 and wire each side together down to 2ohms, which would only give you 25rms per speaker again.

3. the picture of that harness shows it having 2 sets of rca outs but i don't know what they are plugged into. i would call the place first and ask them. it may just be a stock photo. most wiring harnesses are for power and speaker connections, they usually do not give you an rca output. for that you would need a line out converter. you can use the high level inputs if you like. i would not be too worried about the sq you will have since you will still be using the stock hu.

4. get a friend who has installation experience and have at it. the best way to learn is by example, plus it feels good to do your own work. wiring, inline fuses, distros (one of each, fused and non), wire terminals.

5. at a minimum use 4g. if you even have the slightest thought in your head that you may one day upgrade go with 0g. it is more expensive now but you will most likely never have to upgrade (or run) your wiring again, so pay a little more now and be done with it forever.

6. if you want a new hu you should buy one and install everything at once. that will eliminate the need for the factory wiring harness and give you rca connections for all of your amps.

Alright,

Thanks for your timely response!

So i'll probably end up running that wiring harness to the rockford fosgate amp for now, and power my 6x9's at 25 watts a piece. better mids/highs than stock i'm sure.

Then i'll probably tap into the wires from my rear speakers and do a high level input to the pioneer amp, which will power my 2 subs. I did mention that they are DVC, and can run at 2-8 ohms. I have had them setup before in my honda prelude, and it seemed to hit relatively hard, obviously, if i got myself a better amp of say 800 watts rms, and 1600 watts peak, to match my subs exactly, those things would probably hit very hard. I have the subs wired "differently", from my understanding.. It's really difficult to explain, but maybe I should just ask How I should wire them, I guess best would be to run them at 2 omhs, since amp and subs can run that way. So which is better, like this:

http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-ohm_mono.jpg

or like this

http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg

quite honestly, i don't see one hint of different in the 2... maybe it's just a setting that you switch? if you can find the right example in a wiring diagram, or explain it, that'd be helpful. Right now though, my box only has one input, and I think we should keep it that way. Maybe it's the 2nd diagram in this chart:

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=3

I will probably run 2ga or 0ga if i can afford it. But isn't that a little overkill? I mean, 4ga would be fine all the way up to a 800 rms watt amp, i'm pretty sure... And I know i probably won't ever get one that bit... even though I guess i have need of it even right now. But really, isn't 0g a little overkill... Maybe not. could you recommend a wiring kit for me? One that isn't going to hit my wallet for $100+. And it'll probably come with a fuse and fuse holder, but if not, i'll have to throw in a fuse and all that, but what did you mean by:

inline fuses, distros (one of each, fused and non), wire terminals.

What is a distro? what is non fused? Not sure there.

Since I'm going to be taking 2 of the speakers off of my stock leads, what do I do with those leads? If I install my 2 tweeters and my 2 6x9's in a bridged setup, so all 4 were running 25 watts rms, would it affect anything? Also, What happens to the speakers that i don't touch as yet? I mean, originally it was 6 speakers running off of a stock HU. When i take off 2 of those speakers, the front door 6x9's, will the wattage that they were using be directed to the 4 speakers that I have left on the stock HU? So say it was 20x6 originally, would it now be 30x4 watts? And if i put the front tweeters on the fosgate amp i have, it would be just my 2 rear speakers left on the HU, would they be running at 60x2 now? what would I do with the leads that I wasn't using then? Is that going to effect my high level input for the sub connected to the rear 2 speakers? I guess that's a whole new question, one that just came to me.

Anyways, thank you for the response, I plan on doing most of this soon and I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks Again!

Alright,

So i am pretty sure i have checked several times and mentioned that the subs are DVC, and rated at either 2 or 8 ohms. this is what the chart says about the Subs:

Ohm Rating SVC:4, DVC: 2 or 8

You can check it out on the link i put to the actual subs in my first post.

Now, about Distros, why use a fuse? Why even use a distro? is it just to get more things grounded?

And I think i'll probably just buy a new HU. So if anyone could recommend a good Deck that has mp3 and ipod capability, and a few pre-amp outs so i can do all that i explained. 1-2 dim, either way, it is a camry, and their are kits to make it either way. Also, in the price range of 100-150 would be ideal.

Thanks Again
