help- wierd problem

I just picked up a 00 Sonata and am having a wierd problem after installing a radio and HD tuner. I put everything back together and everything looked perfectly normal. I went for a drive to the store and again everything seemed normal. I then get in the car a little while ago after it got dark and realize I have no backlight for my speedo cluster and no back light for my heating controls. The wierd thing is that I have certain lights in these locations but just not the backlight. What the hell could I have done to make just the backlight go out on these two things? I checked my fuses and none of them appeared to be blown. I have installed about 15 different radios in my 99 Sonata with no problems at all and for some reason on my first install on my 00 I have this issue. So anyone have any ideas?

did you buy a harness to plug in to the existing factory harness? or did you cut off the factory harness and hard wire.

a long-shot, but does it have a dimmer knob? is it turned down?

that's why i mentioned the harness. the dimmer wire that runs to the factory radio (if it has one) could have been shorted.

I bought a harness. I checked the dimmer knob and it was turned all the way up. Also I tried to plug the factory radio back in to see if it would solve the problem but it didn't

It would have to be two different bulbs as I am missing the backlight in more than one place.

A fuse may APPEAR fine, but really not be, Get a test light and check again

I just tried replacing the possible fuses with brand new ones and still got nothing as far as dash lights. I do have one more wierd thing to add to this though. I just noticed when I lock my car with the remote(aftermarket DEI) that only the right side lights are flashing. both the left side tailight and font blinker are not flashing, yet they work just fine when you use them like normal as a blinker or tailight.
