Help w/ Power Setup

Alright guys, I have an alpine MRP-F320 amp and also a Better Audio 1600M1. Currently I have 4 guage wire running from the hood to the trunk. When it gets to the trunk I have the 4 guage hooked into a block where it splits into 8's. As I understand it the 1600M1 recommends 4 guage for power and ground. My question is, can I use 8 guage as long as I keep the 8 guage very short???? I will have it about 1 foot long. Or do they make a distribution block that has a 4 guage inputs with 4 and 8 guage outputs???? I really want to avoid having to run 0,1, or 2 guage through my car. Thanks for your help.

there are all sorts of distro blocks out there, you would have to search but I dont see why they wouldn't have one, but running 8 guage wire maybe a little risky, a lot of power through a smaller wire, if you could stray away from running the 8 guage to the bigger amp that would be good, but if its short you might, not guarenteeing anything, i doubt that I would, but you may be able too, maybe someone else will know a little more, i have 4 guage wire in mine, i had 8 guage but i bought 4 guage because i didnt want to run smaller wire with a larger amp, i wouldn't do it but ask some other people,

Definitely use at least 4 ga wire. I suggest u run 0/1 ga wire to a distro. Then u can do 4 ga wire to amp and 8 ga to other amp

strip 4 guage wire, pull back some of copper wiring, cut that off and it is a smaller wire at the tip, u can then plug that in to the distro block, but dont forget to electrical tape the end, thats a thing you can do with larger wire on like amps and stuff, but strip wire coat, pull back copper wire so that center is smaller, then cut the pulled back off
