help tweaking my system?

just got my system hooked up and my last battery died on me due to low voltage issues, i got a new one and a capacitor and have had no more dimmin or voltage drop issues. but my gain i set it lower (1/2 way). My amp is a American Bass VFL 80.1 and my sub is a fi q d2. have it wired it one ohm. trying to find a way to set my gain right, i have a voltage meter on my cap (not sure if that will be in need). also i was wondering what setting i should have on for my alpine deck (defeat vs loud) and can i have the eq subw level up on my deck without hurting anything? or is there a way to turn down the front and rear speakers while leaving the sub up? any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Yeah, dump the cap...useless!

What Alpine deck do you have? A list of your system components would be helpful.

well i wasnt asking about whether to keep the cap or not, and it definitely does seem to be helping my system out. and my deck is alpine ida-x200

they help slightly but once they get drained when the bass hits they cannot get recharged until the bass stops so pointless really. True you didnt ask but others with more audio knowledge let you in on the secret
