Help: removing 4gauge power wire

When disconnecting a battery completely, the appropriate method is to disconnect negative, then disconnect positive. To reconnect, you should connect positive, then negative. This is for safety reasons to reduce the risk of spark while disconnecting and reconnecting the cables, which could cause the battery to explode.

In order to disconnect the positive cable properly for safety reasons, you should disconnect the negative cable first, anyway. It's simpler just to remove the negative cable to disrupt the power flow than it would be to remove the negative, then the positive, so it's generally accepted practice to just remove the negative cable.

335 posts in a month i figured all that time you spent on here you would learned something by now.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I just wanted to know which one to disconnect first. As far blowing the fuse..I wasnt sure because I didn't blow my fuse but some one (forgot who) told me I probably blew it but then other people that read the post said don't listen that I didn't blow it just because it touched metal. So I wanted an explanation of why could it have possibly blown my fuse:moon:

for god sakes... just disconnect the negative battery terminal.

and if you still think your going to get shocked... disconnect the positive, take the fuse out, wrap all bare metal in electrical tape, and wear gloves and boots.

ehhm. hmm.

(arguably,) electricity flows from positive to negative[ground]

without a negative[ground], electricity flows nowhere.

Here's the positive.

Here's the negative.

Here's the wire connected to the battery;
