Help re-do my set up!

So here's what I am currently working with,

99 Saturn SC1

Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

1- 10w7 in a 1.6 cubic foot slot ported box

1- JL 1000/1 powering it

Big 3

Some sound deadener in the trunk

Stock everything else!

What I want to do is get another single 10" that I can run off the 1000/1 that wont be over powered, the 10w7 is rated at about 750 so my amp is a little to much for it. I will get a new box built for it whenever I figure out the subwoofer. Right now I am talking with SPLaudio who has a sick 10 that he built and am strongly considering grabbing it. Ive also been looking at the SSA Icon and the Sundown z and ns.

Right now my current set up hits very good for a single 10 but I know that amp can do more and I want a single 10 that will destroy the 10w7!! And I would like to do it with my 1000/1 I have seen these amps clamped at 1300-1400 watts.

So what subwoofer should I go with? Has anyone had any experience with all of the above brands? Is there a different brand I should be considering?

Now I am also going to need a HO Alt. My current set up is dimming the lights bad! I know JL amps are very un-efficiant so I will need to deal with this as well. Im thinking I can get away with a reasonably priced Alt. as my car only has a 90amp stock so I shouldnt have to go to big with it. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a HO Alt for car and maybe help decide what size to go with?

And lastly I would like to upgrade the front speakers, I believe my car has the odd ball size of 6.75" in the doors or they might be called over sized 6.5"? I have a JL 300/4 sitting on the shelf that im planning on using for the fronts so that should give me 150rms to each door if I bridge the amp. What would you all recommend I go with for the fronts?

I would like to keep the budget around $500-700

a dc lvl 4 would do the trick and you could prolly use the same box .the alt will be pricey for that car ,but hit up singer alts,as far as components ,a set to hold that much power again will be costly,but look into the cdt lines ,and the 6.5 will fit with maybe some mild modifications

Never looked into DC, i'll check them out! And im not sure what cdt is...

 
i would run the sundown z personally its an amazing sql woofer and that box should work well.
and next time bolt down your box you dont want it killing you if you get in a crash
Yeah I like the Z even though I have never heard them, I will be doing a final install the correct way this was just thrown together. But theres no way for that box to get in the car anyways, would just bounce around in the trunk.

well in a seriousl enough accident the back seat can come a loose

any way i loved my z12s and they love 1500a piece though i doubt the 1000/1 clamps 1300w jl actually stats that it only puts out 1000w from 1.5ohm to 4ohm unless its the v1 the amp is programed to only put out 1000w. but it is clean power and is often said to be louder than other more powerful amps due to the lower distortion rate. at any rate it would be plenty for a z10 d1 wire to 2ohm. whatever u do dont wire that amp to a nominal 1ohm load it will fry trust me i have experience with that amp

My amp is v2 I dont know if that makes any difference? And im not opposed to switching amps either, but I would like to sell the 1000/1 before I purchased something different. And what I was saying about the box is it literally cant fit through the opening into the car, but I do appreciate the concern and it will be getting bolted down in the future!

The custom 10" that SPL has is a version of the Sundown Z which is why I am looking at it strongly

splaudio does great work and the motor is great. ask him which version of the motor it is the v1, v2, or v3 if its the v2 it was the same motor i had. the great thing about sundown subs is the ability to have them reconed you can have jl recone that sub but it will cost an arm and a leg but the sundown is much much less.

Anyone?? Still looking for help on which Alt to get and which front stage...
Best price I found for a new alt "Saturn Ion" was close to $500 bucks. In my case my alt is located under the car so a lift would be needed. So now toss in install cost $200-$300 bucks and as u can see we are close to a grand already. Now if anything happens to alt that is covered under warranty guess what thats another $200 bucks to remove it, shipping charges back to manf, then another $200 bucks to get it reinstalled. Just to much money for me right there.

 
Really a good battery up front , a small battery in the back 1/0 and the big three should stop your dimming. I ran 2500 rms off a 75 amp alt with 2 runs of 1/0 two group 27's in the trunk and never dropped under 12.8 full tilt.

I'll look into pricing out some batteries, I have an Optima Red Top laying around I could throw in as well. What are group 27's?
