Help: Protective material for trunk area

Hello.

I drive an escape and I'm constantly using the trunk area to load and unload things that are meant to be placed in a truck bed. I'm looking for a plastic type material, similar to office mats that the chair roles on, to cover the trunk area. Right now my trunk area is plain carpet and was wondering what kind of material I could temporarily cover the carpet with that would protect it better? My thought about the office mat was that it would grip the carpet and stay in place without affecting the carpet.

I guess I'm looking for a temporary "rhino lining" for my trunk area.
