Help: Popping noise when H/U turns off

I've recently installed a head unit and a 4 ch amplifier into a 2000 Nissan Sentra. Everything works fine except the speakers produce a popping noise a few seconds after the head unit is turned off. I've been doing some online research and it seems that the reason for the popping may be due to the amp shutting off after the head unit(or something to that extent) Is there any "home remedy" solution? I've also seen a solution on crutchfield involving a capacitor on the remote power line. Has anyone tried this?

hook up an external toggle switch. and turn it off before you turn your head unit off.

I was thinking about doing that as a last resort.... I'd like to try to get the remote wire to work.

its just like you said. your head unit has a quick shut off. perhaps you need a new head unit. but the toggle switch between the stereos actuall remote wire and the AMP will work perfect. i had it like that for a long time for competitions so if my amp went into protect i could cut power and turn it right back on to reset it. if you turn your head unit off the run is over.

**** it.. I would really prefer to not have to use a switch, but like I said... If worst comes to worst, then I can deal with having a switch

Hey, so I wired up a switch from the Head unit's remote control wire to the amp remote wire. The switch is fully functional in the sense that it turns the amp on and off, but the sad thing is that I'm still getting a popping noise whenever the amp turns off, whether it be from turning on the head unit, or manually turning it off from the switch. I'm now thinking that perhaps the amp is malfunctioning? Any input would be great guys! Thanks

i get this sound in my g/f's car but it was a quick shitty HU install n it was a used hand-me-down unit so i ddnt think much of it. but id like to fix it so yea, im interested in hearing how to fix it. btw, no amps or subs installed
