Help please, my inline fuse keeps blowing.

Hi, thank you in advance for any advice that anyone can give me. I have a pair of 2 ohm kicker cvr 10's hooked up to a kicker zx750.1 amp. All my wiring, except for the remote wire, has been replaced and is all 4 guage. My problem is, it keeps blowing the 80 amp inline fuse (amp has two 40 amp fuses on it). So I replace the fuse, turn my system up, and turn up the volume for 20 to 30 seconds and then pop another inline fuse blown.

you sure your subs are wired in series(assuming you have dual 2 ohm subs) then parallel to the amp presenting a 2 ohm load. otherwise you may have your amp running too low of an ohm load....my buddy (who bragged about being an journeyman electrician nonetheless) had an old Kicker ZR600 and it only runs @ 4 ohm bridged....I sold him my old L7 15" dual 2 ohm sub, and stressed that he wire it in series so the amp would 'see' a 4 ohm load.....he says, yeah sure man, i know what i'm doing, blah, blah, blah....about a week later he calls me and tells me he's constantly blowing fuses. come to find out the "JOURNEYMAN" had it wired at 1 ohm....

Put a 100 amp in there. Should be ok on 4 AWG.
wrong...try to find out WHY you keep blowing the fuses first, before just puting in a bigger fuse. I can almost gurantee that amp isn't pulling 80a of current unless he's got the gain, bass boost, and everyhting all the way up AND driving the amp well into clipping...even then most fuses are rated to open(blow) at almost 150-200% of their rating for a set amount of time....like 5 or 10 sec.

I have one positive to one negative on each sub. Then, pre amp I have both of the other positives combined going into the positive terminal, and both of the other negatives combined going into the negative terminal.

The inline fuse isn't there to protect his amp. It's there to protect his car from burning up if the wires short out. He could put a 120 amp on 4 AWG and be fine with it. Now if he has the subs wired at to low of an ohm load, then that's what the fuses are for on the amp itself.

Oh and by the way you have the subs wired in parallel, you are pulling to much out of the amp. You need to wire those in series. Goto rockfordfosgate.com, and use the wiring wizard for the correct way to wire those up.

Nevermind. I am a little off tonight. You have them wired correctly if it's the way you say they are. I just skimmed over the post, and thought you said positive to positive.

Lol, I was going to say wow this is getting confusing. I was looking at the diagram like that is how I have it wired, and I want a two ohm load so how is it wrong? anyways......I wish I knew a place open this late that sold 100 amp fuses.
