Help: People with '03 eDk.. (not another eD thread, sorry)

Guys with this sub.. im going out on a limb to see if youcan help me.

Here's my setup

3 Cubes ported @31hz

425wRMS going to it..

On certain freqs, it gives a popping noise.. I thought it was from "over extension" but when it gets low, it doesnt really pop.. On songs like "Like night tip" and other 3-6 songs for exmaple, it's CONSTANTLY popping.. Idk what's going on.. Im doubting it is tinsel lead slap, becuz eD puts those felt pads on the cone.. Im not sure if it's bottoming out, cuz i don't know what that is exactly and what it looks/sounds like.. This is the first setup i've owned where i've had "problems"

Check for an air leak in the box...throw some baby powder in there and it will come shooting out of the leak...if thats not the case, then all else I can think of is maybe the wires inside the box are hitting the sub while its moving...

if i did the powder trick, i'd have it all coming out of the port

I don't think there's a leak, becuz the sub itself POPS on the freqs above the low end extension.. I am embarassed to pop the trunk and show people it playing..

its not the wires hitting the sub either, cuz there is no "length-give" to them.. they are tight, stretching from sub to back of box where it leads out.. Its the sub itself that pops..

what is bottoming out? how do i know it's happening?

I had the same thing happen, but the weird thing, it only happens to me on this one talib kweli song. It sounds like a hollow sound right? I turned the crossover down, and it went away, turned it back up after that song, and it was fine.

I have a 12k in a 1.7 ft^3 sealed box getting about 400-425 watts.

ya... when i put my X-over on about under 60hz, it doesnt "pop".. but then i'm also loosing some higher end freq's that i'd like.. not too high though.. i just go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif over it, anymore help? maybe you shoulda tuned ur box higher and turned ur x over down.........wouldnt that stop it??? and still give you the higher frequencies......."?? or am i just tired as shit from work and dont know what the hell i am saying HA......
