Help on a bike

IMHO, the whole "you are new to riding don't get anything fast" mentality is stupid. I started out on a 750 Katana, not the fastest bike around but it's HEAVY as hell, thing weighs about 500 lbs. And i have yet to lay it down. Bike's dont kill people stupid people on bikes kill people........and stupid people in cars.
fact is, respect whatever bike you choose, respect it the day you buy it and respect it the day you sell it to get something bigger, then respect the bigger bike even more. don't let full body road rash force you to respect it.
people are limited to what they buy in sc, because there is a road coarse you must pass to get your license....heavier bikes are more difficult to maneuver for beginners, and more powerful ones are unruly for newbs-->they don't have the coordination to lay OFF the throttle

true, but you can ride on a permit for a year, and normally a full year of riding and you'll gain the skills you need to pass the road test.

IMHO your stupid. Just because you got a Katana 750 doesn't mean anyone can handle any bike.

I'm not talking about laying it down. I'm talking about getting a little too cocky and cracking the throttle then having some shithead pull out in front of you and get you killed.

The whole "getting used to a motorcycle" mentality (which is what really people are trying to say) is a great idea.
