To start a single 12" Pioneer Premier TS-W3004SPL dual 4ohm coils ran parallel to 2ohms @1000rms:
Pioneer TS-W3004SPL (tsw3004spl) 12" Dual 4 ohms SPL Competition
The amp powering it will be a Precision Power PPI BK1800.1D & puts out 1100rms @2ohms:
Precision Power PPI BK1800.1D (BK18001D) 1800W RMS Mono Class D Black Ice Car Amp
Since these answers depend on how I like my setup, I know that no one can tell me exactly what to tune it to. I've tried a few sites with no luck cause im not that much of an audiophile but am learning to be! I just want help building the box close to my subs specs & then i"ll take it from there. Problem is, I stink when trying to use these sites no matter how much research I do!! Here's a bunch of site that I've saved:
- Speaker enclosure volume calculator: Speaker Enclosure Volume Calculator
- LinearTeam WinISD Pro: LinearTeam
- The12Volt.com: Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators
- The Subwoofer DIY Page: The Subwoofer DIY Page - Box-Building FAQ
- Enclosure Volume Calculators: Enclosure Volume Calculator - Subwoofer Box Calculator
With that said, I want it for everyday driving, but if a song comes on that I wanna listen to at full tilt, well then I want my organs to vibrate to put it bluntly!! My guess, a slot ported box around 2 to 2.5 cubes at 32 to 35Hz. Best ive seen is here: Free Box Plans: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/enclosure-design-construction-help/137804-free-box-plans.html With the space I have to work with in my jeep, max measurements are round 30" or less in width, 14" or 15" in depth, & 15" or 16" in height with a slotted port & these come close:
- 2 Cubes @ 35hz= ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting
- 2.25 @ 32Hz= ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting
Here's the rear cargo area & both those amps are gettin replaced with a PPI BK1800 sub amp & a PPI BK800 4ch. Do u think I should face it towards the tailgate or firing upwards?
