i have 2 10" jl audios running off a 1200 ad amp, wired to a stock radio with line converter in a gmc sierra 08, i have almost all the knobs on the amp turned down but every time i turn up the volume on my radio the subs make a weird noise and the amp goes into protective mode and stays in it until i turn the truck off and turn it back on, even so the subs are not even playing to there fullest, i have asked around and cannot find any reason for this happening, it would be great if anyone knows what is wrong with them, all my stuff is brand new and bought from audio shops in my location

I'm no expert but try this.
Check your ground cable, check speaker wires inside box, check ohms on subs.

Single voice coil or dual?

What are your subs wired to?
This^^. It sounds like you have a short with your signal wires somewhere. Check speaker wiring inside and outside box and at the amp. Check where you wired the the line out converter into your stock speaker wires too.

could be anything. id look through the entire setip starting with ground and power wires.

check the rca voltages from hu to end of rca.

make sour your wiring on subs are both the same. make sure your subs wiring at final load is matched with amp as well.

if you dont have a voltage meter get one they are $20
