Help needed on which 8" to go with???

Almost got my front stage set up the way I like it so now it’s time to get my sub stage started. Amp has not been picked yet but it will do at least 1500+@1ohm. More than likely it will be a BC2000 but I will not be picking up the amp till after I have subs and box ready to go. I will be doing 3-8" subs in the trunk of a Saturn Ion 2 box can be no bigger than 3.0cf max and it will be ported. SQ is not my main goal in this setup. I am not looking for nut hugging comments I want real unbiased suggestions. What I am looking for is the best quality built out of the list below. I am still waiting on prices for 2 of them so that may or may not knock them out of my choices. Thx guys.

1. Sundown Sa-8 - $135 / 400rms / 2" coil / Unknown spiders / Sens: 78.47dB@1w/1m / D2 / 1.34 ohm final load / 15lbs (est)

2. Cadence CVL8-500 - $99 / 500rms / 2" coil / Quad spiders / Sens: 92.0dB@1w/1m / S4 / 1.34 ohm final load / 9lbs

3. DC Audio lvl2 8" - Unknown / 300rms / 2.5" coil / 8" OD flat linear roll spider / Sens: 79.04dB@1w/1m / D2 / 1.34 ohm final load / 17.5lbs

4. DD Audio 1508 - Unknown / 500rms / 2" coil / Unknown spiders / Sens: 76.35dB@1w/1m / D2 / 1.34 ohm final load / 14lbs

Cadence. Same thing as the 1508, but better softparts and cheaper than the rest.

Yea after alil research the Cadence is no longer an option. Gonna call Rusty and my local DD dealer to get prices once the sun comes up. I have a feeling the DD will be to $$$ but I guess I will see.

That’s is what I was told so that is why its listed but whatever rev they are selling now is not as good as the previous revisions. They are suppose to be coming out with a new 8" to replace the CVL but they have no time frame or price and I can't wait for a undetermined amount of time and a undetermined price. Was also told Soundstream was soon to release a new 8" sub that is suppose to be a contender but again no idea of release date or price..

Thats funny. I know what thread your referring to and read it thoroughly. The guy that blew the smoke screen was making claims he could never back up with MIT test data and this that and the other thing. There is no reason to believe anything in that thread is less than bogus.

LOL I did read the thread and I did not take all that was said as the truth. But the new rev is soon to be replaced with a new sub which has me thinking maybe rev 3-4 whatever it is was not the best as they are replacing it already and its only been on the market for a matter of weeks. I need to get in contact with Jacob or someone who knows what spider setup they use on the sa's and find out what they are made of.

i'd say if your willing to spend a little more $$ go with the DD, if not the SA8 is a beast especially in its price range. let me know which way you go with this plz, im in the market for some new 8's as well.

In about an hour I will know if the DD is an option. I expect it will be to much $$$ as our local dealer will prob try and sell at retail price which is like $239 and DD is good but not $200+ good. I liked my 2510 but for the price I was kinda dissapointed.

sa-8 is what i would go with, haven't heard one for myself, but looks like beast, and haven't seen a negative review yet.

SA8 or DD1508...if it comes down to price, get the SA8 unless you can get a 1508 cheaper.

^^ sa's it is then just needed to know what they used for spiders. Nomex FTW..
