HELP! Need to decide what to do on an upgrade...

I have a 1999 Toyota 4Runner that I am upgrading the stereo on. I currently have an Alpine CDA-9827 in there. I just bought new 6 1/2" and 4" Pioneer speakers for the doors, and a 300W Pionner 4-channel amp. I was planning on just amping the door speakers and forget the sub, but I was wondering if 300W is going to push enough to the 4 speakers anyway?

Here are the exact products:

6 1/2" : http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4075_38291,00.html

4" : http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4085_64850173,00.html

AMP : http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4055_77659852,00.html

Would I be better off keeping the door speakers powered off only the head unit, then put something like a 10" sub in the back and amp that?

Any tips would be great. Thanks!

I'm still a newbie but have asked questions like this in the past. The response I usually get is to amp up the front speakers, run the back speakers off the head unit and then add a small sub for the rear. You should be able to bridge 2 channels off your amp to power the sub. I forgot to ask what the rms wattage is. If it is pretty low you probably will not be able to power a sub. In that case just power all for speakers with the amp. You may have to fade to the front so your back are not too loud.

Seriously your HU could power both of those. The Pioneer amp could easily push those speakers. I would seriously upgrade to Infinitys, they are just as inexpensive and will sound a ton better and handle twice the wattage. I would not bother amping a sub with your current amp, you will regret it and then upgrade later anyways.

If you want to keep your speakers just power them with the HU, I had the 9825 Alpine and I ran my 6.5s off it for a while and they sounded descent. Go to Circuit City or Best Buy and get the 10 dollar crossovers and wire those to the + wire of each of your

speaker. Your amp will not power any half descent sub.

I would personally get rid of your pioneer stuff, I had it, and there is a lot better.

If he is gonna use the 4" for the front, wouldnt it make more sense to run those off the HU? I dont think those speakers really need that amp, they should play decently off the HU. Save your money for a good amp and woofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
