help need badly

hi i have a alpine MRD-M605 on a alpine type r 12 and it makes popping sounds... and today i put it in my buddys are just to see if it was my qiring job and no it pops in his car too. than we honked the amp up to his alpine type X and it makes popping sounds to. so does this mean my R is damaged? and also what could i do about the amp. it has a subsonic filter i havent turned than on would that help?? any help would be greaty appecetd thx.

are you overpowering the subs and bottoming them both out? Or do you have the gains all the way up clipping the signal?
