help my subs quit working

heres the problem i was listening to some music as usual while going to the store when i got there i turned my car off and went into the store 5 minutes later i come out crank my car up and no bass my subs make a couple of bump sounds then my amp imediately goes into protection mode ive done this prob 5 or 6 times just now and i get the same results the amp goes right into protection after the subs make a weird popping sound

please help me out i have no idea what is wrong this has never happened before

Sounds like a ground issue. Make sure your ground is solid on both your amp and your chassie.
