ok heres my story. I bought a used Brahma 15. I.ve barely used it. Just the other day I got curious and decided measure the impedence on the coils. I find one coil to be 1.7 and the other one 1.8 ohms, so I think no big deal the multimeter's probably got dead batteries:eyebrow: . Just measured it this morning and to my horrer I find that it now has one coil that is 1.5 and the other 1.2 ohms:eek: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif. Now I'm starting to get worried about it and don't know what to do:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

ps: the subs in a box thats around 7.5 cubes with 300 watts rms going to it.

Temperature ??, that may have something to do with it.

Also, the ohms at rest will be diff than the advertised nominal ohms which occurs while the speaker is playing.

I don't know if the Brahma's had this problem, but a couple years ago, when I had my Shiva's they died too, it was the tinsel leads, but I had heard that problem was fixed.

Should probably check em though!

yeah get a GOOD multi meter. also when conductors are cold. there is less reistance. so if u ohm-ed out your voice coils after playing it. and then u ohm-ed it out first thing in the morn, there could be a diff

I don't think so, I used 3 different ones and they all gave me the same reading. However I've being playing around with some more and the coils are now the same 1.2 and 1.2 ohms, they haven't changed since then and it plays just fine.

It's now got me confused, is it normal wear for a used sub or is something wrong with it???
