Help me witrh my MTX's

Ok heres the test setup

-Yamaha Home audio system running 200 watts i believe

- both of my MTX's

Now the volume works backwards on this FYI

--Problem

I took one MTX and threw it on the system. Started the volume at 35 and worked down to 15 and it sounded fine, i tookthe second one and started at 35 and got to 32 and a static pop came from the sub and the radio cut off. Turned on and it said check speaker wire. Started it on 40 and worked it down to 32 and it cut out the same. I reversed all the wires in different configurations and it still did it. Also tested both with a boombox running 95W on 6 ohms and it happened the exact same way. Is my sub done.

wtf?

With more power your sub cut out?

It cut out on both systems with differnet power ratings - and i was thinking about grabbing hte battery charger and running the amp to hear them. Anyways, is it a paper weight
