man i dont know what came out around that time and what songs were good... i dont listen to alternative now... im just getting back into it... i missed 99-06

thanks untouchable keep going i need spacific songs

"alternative" is kind of a bs term....

first "alternative" was college rock (rem, pixies)

then they started calling grunge alternative (nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam)

and then alternative became bands like semisonic, and eve 6, which i can only describe as jangle pop.

no true defineable genre of music could contain nine inch nails, metallica, blind melon, and toad the wetsprocket under the same title.

i guess the reaction to that happening is the 4,094,241 different subgenres of music now. it's getting insane

does anyone remember that spoken word song, that was all about the things you'd miss out on if you commit *******?

i remember it got a LOT of radio play, and the only part i can remember is the guy talks about "getting stoned and eating like a horse"

and then there was that other lame spoken word-style song that wasn't popular at first, so they mixed in soundbites from jerry maguire, and then it was some sort of force of nature pop single..... anyone know what i'm talking about?

there was also "standing outside of a broken phone booth with change in my hand" or something like that.....

the 90's had the best and the worst of music in a long long time
