Hey guys i still cant get that HU set up, the 9813. Ive been in numerous threads asking people how and noticed other people too need help setting the EQ curve. The problem is i dont really know what it does and ive been tweaking around with it for like 2 weeks now.

from my understanding in the EQ curve there are three things to set. The manual says they are...

1. frequency band (pressing the band/tel button)

2. frquency 20Hz-20kHz(in 1/3 octave steps)(pressing the |>| buttons)

3. level (turning the rotary encoder)

4. bandwidth (Q) (pressing the source/power button)

now i listen to mostly rock music. If anyone out there has set up their Alpine 9813/9815 to sound good for this style of music can you please tell me the 4 things you set. I know that some people may say "but what sounds good to us may not sound good to you" but i just wanna try your setups out and hear for myself.

also if someone who knows what changing these things does to the music could you also fill me in?? The manual doesnt say what they do, only how to change them, like i just did up there.

thanks

Why don't you just play with it until it sounds good to YOUR ear?

haha.. I swear he asked for your settings and not this other whatnot.. :ready_to_
u can read! he did ask for that. but most of the times what it sounds good for someone, it doesn't for some one else.

play around w it and find wat u like. thre's been a lot of threads bout how hard it is to set up the higher alpine decks. u just gotta play w it n read the manual. good luck

Yeah they are pretty hard to setup...I just installed my 2 ED 12A's over the weekend and they weren't working so we assumed it was the hu...well we ran rca's from a kenwood in my buddy's van and they sounded incredible..so we started tweaking with the alpine and got it real close but I still have to read through the manual..ugggh...other than that the HU is great..good luck with the eq setup

I have the 7897 and it to is apain in the a** to set up. I got it sounding good right now but I'm still playing with it. I left the t-tcorrection and bass focus alone for now.

hmmm, Im seeing some of you with alpine decks in your sigs... Please just fill me in on what you guys have your EQ set at. Its been like over a month now since Ive had it and im getting nowhere. At this point Im ready to just try out some other peoples settings.

Come on please, it wont take long to tell me the 4 things you have set in the EQ. Please dont just say "try tweaking it yourself" Im sick of that for now, its obviously getting me nowhere.

1. frequency band (pressing the band/tel button)

2. frquency 20Hz-20kHz(in 1/3 octave steps)(pressing the |>| buttons)

3. level (turning the rotary encoder)

4. bandwidth (Q) (pressing the source/power button)

or maybe even explaining to me more what these features do to adjust the curve. The manual does not state what they do, just what they are called. PLeaase guys help me out!!!!

Telling you what settings are on other EQs isn't going to help you in the least...every car, install, and person is different...it's up to you to decide what sounds best.

heres a question: i have the 9815 and i cant make s**t for sense of the eq. theres 1 2 2 3 3 and while i can guess that 1 is highs 2 is bass and 3 is mid i a) dont know why 2 and 3 each have two setings and b) why the manual doesnt really correspmd well with the eq layout. im set up for two way i believe, i had the unit pro. installed since i didnt wanna mess with a new car and the wiriing i would just like someone to braek it down for a brotha...what exactly are each of these settings.

thanx

head unit

front o/4/125

rear 0/4/100

sub 0/4/100

eq - i sometimes either have it set on rock or flat (depending on music)

mx- i have it on (bass boost down on my amp for my sub)

when i have it off (bass boost is a lil higher on my amp for my sub)

anything else?

I have a 9815 and used the eq the first time I tried it. First of all, a puff. Then I selected 'rock' and tweaked a little, saved it as #1 and then tweaked a bit more then saved as #2 etc. Save it right when it first sounds decent before touching anything else.

I have a blast each time I'm doing it, and I have a blast while I'm doing it!
