Alright guys, I am completely confused with this amp stuff. Lately I have changed my mind about my setup a lot. I have come to the conclusion that I will run a 12" IDQ sub and Infinity Perfect 6.1 front components. Now I need to decide on amps for them. Can someone suggest amps for both of these? I want an amp that will put out 400w rms to the sub. I can get either 2 or 4 ohm versions of the sub. I want an amp that will put 100w rms to the speakers. Please give suggestions and explain why it will work. I am new and confused by amps. Thanks.

JBL 601.1 for sub and JBL GTO 75.4 for Perfects //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have the 601.1...great amp..if you need 4ohm load for sub then the 601.1 will run it right at 424WRMS @ 4ohms..

GTO 75.4 will run 104 x 4 WRMS at 4ohms so thatd be fine for the Perfects..thats if ur running Perfects for fronts and rears..if not you can still just run two channels and save the other two for more Perfects

Excellent amp at an excellent price. The DSP features kick absolute ***, and it provides the exact power you need. Run the front two channels to your comps, and bridge the rears to your sub (just be sure to get the sub with the D2 coils).

No, the 12.5w less per channel to your comps and 50w less to your sub will not be audible and will not affect performance what so ever...so do not worry about those very slight differences.

And, at that price point, you WILL NOT find a better amp or pair of amps. And factory renewed is just as good as new...so dont' worry about that.

The kicker amp sounds great. Is there any negatives to running a multichannel amp for my whole system? Also, with the multichannel which preamp would I hook it up to from the head unit. If I dont hook it up to the sub preamp then I dont think i can control bass with the head unit.

Really the only down side is that, in the event you wanted to upgrade either your comps or subs to something with more power, you may need to buy two new amps instead of only replacing a single amp (if you already had a separate sub/comp set amp). But, running a single amp will save you space, time and money (there are extra expenses in wiring up 2 amps as opposed to one, 2 amps take up more space, etc etc).

I honestly would go with a single 4-channel amp for it's ease of installation and wiring, and space conservation as opposed to two separate amps.

The amp will have one input for each channel.....so you can run your front preamp outputs to the input for the two channels running your comps, and run your preamp outputs to the inputs for the two channels running your sub.
