Help me please!!!!

Hey I need some help. I just got a 98 Acura 3.2 TL which is completely stock, but im planning on putting in a new system. The only problem is I have no idea were to start. Could someone please help me in deciding what i should get. Im willing to spend about 500 on everything. (subs, speakers, tweeters, amp, etc.) Also I would really appreciate detailed descriptions of whatever your advice may be because I happen to be an ignorant fool when it comes to car audio.

If I were you, id save a little more up. You arent going to get much for 500 bucks when its split up between that, and youll need a box and wiring to go along with it.

I'd start with buying a deck. Then get subs/amp. Then get new door speakers. Then amp them. Or if you can wait, just save up and get it all at once.

Depends on the equipment you want to buy. The lower you spend, the worse you get.

1000 would get you an awesome setup IMO. You can really do a lot with 1000 dollars.

So lets say im willing to spend around $1000. What should I get first and what brands. Ive heard a lot of JBL so ive been thinking of getting everything from there. Is that advisable?

Personally, Id look into alpine, pioneer, or kenwood for decks

Subwoofers - Resonant Engineering, Elemental Designs, Stereo Integrity, Incriminator Audio, ect

Amp(s) would be determined on the type of sub you get

Speakers - arc, rainbow, focal, kenwood, alpine, mb quart, crossfire, crystal, ect

Get pioneer hu, they're awesome and you can get one of the lower line ones for cheap and it'll still be awesome. Saves money. You oughta get an elemental designs k series, i hear good things about them and they're sposed to be cheap.

So far, I'm at about $600 with my (future) system. However, I'm gonna have a modest setup so I didn't need 300Watt+ components.

$150 cdt cl-61(a)

$100 q-logic universal kick panels

$125 usx4065 amp

$85 eD12kx.44 sub

$35 1cuFt Box

I could've saved money by making kick panels and a box myself. But like someone else said,

i would really rather save money and build the box myself but if the initial cost of buying all the needed tools is too much i might have to go and have someone else build the box for me.

- that's the main reason why I haven't.

so you could definitely knock off that $100 for the kick panels if say they'll fit in stock locations.

Hmmm...$1000.

1. head unit..Alpine, even their lower models are amazing. (can't wait to get one). could probably get one for around $175 shipped.

2. Speakers. I have Alpine type S all round and i LOVE them. You could probably get them for about $150 shipped. Mine could definately use some more power going to them, but I have a sony HU, but an Alpine HU has a high power handling built in mosfet amp. personal opinion, but profile has some good 4 channel amps for about $110 shipped.

3. sub / amp combo: depends on what you want. search for answers to those questions. but you could find a middle of the road sub/amp combo for about $250 or so.

don't forget to think about installation costs and dampening, and wiring, and all.
